My name is Paul, a resident of Lake Mary, FL. I became a patient of Dunwoody Dental merely because they were the closest provider for my dental insurance. Little did I know this was a blessing in disguise.
I had not been to a dentist in 10 to 15 years prior to my visit to Dunwoody Dental. I had several issues which I finally decided to get looked at. I had a broken molar and what I thought was gingivitis on my front 4 upper teeth. The gum over these teeth were recessed and you could actually see the root of the teeth. I could not smile in front of people or I would have to cover my mouth with my hand. I was married a few years and was able to keep this hidden from my wife. I always brushed my teeth twice a day and tried to keep them healthy and could not understand how this happened.
On my first visit I was not only nervous but wondered what the staff would think when I showed them my teeth. I always kept myself healthy through a proper diet and rigorous work-outs and here I am with a disease ridden mouth. The dental assistant was the first to see me and my mouth. I literally watched her face to see if she cringed. To my surprise, she did not. She continued to treat me as if there were no issues. Dr. Lopez-Torres entered for the examination. When I first saw her I actually thought she was straight out of dental school due to her young age. I again watched her face for a reaction but saw none. Not only was she pleasant, she told me i did not have gingivitis but a simple problem of grinding my teeth while I slept. This was actually pushing my teeth forward out of my gum line. She told me this within the first 30 seconds of the examination. I still thought I would have to have these teeth pulled and get dentures. When I asked her about this she confidently told me she could make my mouth good as new. I thought this was going to be impossible.
Due to the condition of my mouth, I had to have numerous treatments over several months. Dr. Lopez-Torres formulated a treatment plan which was well within my budget. For someone who did not like to go to the dentist, as my treatments progressed I actually looked forward to my treatments. I actually felt like part of the Dunwoody Family. Everyone was always friendly and knew my by name and remembered previous conversations we shared.
As I said, I had numerous treatments over several months. Some took hours but I was always comfortable and never in pain. The “bedside manor” of both the dental technicians and Dr. Lopes-Torres were perfect. They were genuinely concerned of my comfort. There were several occasions where I actually fell asleep during the treatment even though I never took any type of sedative, only Novocain. During the entire treatment I had several root canals, cavities/broken teeth repaired and the restoration of my front top 4 teeth. To my surprise, these 4 teeth were left and fitted with caps. By the end of the treatment, not only did I have a mouth where I did not hide my smile, but my teeth looked natural. Dr. Lopez-Torres actually fixed a small gap between my front two teeth my orthodontist never did.
My overall experience with Dunwoody Dental and Dr. Torrez-Lopez was so positive, I actually go twice a year for cleaning and check-ups. During my entire treatment, I always felt like I was their only patient. They truly have service with a smile with a womanly touch. (This is an all-woman dental office) By the way, Dr. Lopez-Torres was not a new dentist, she actually has several years of experience but just looks young. Prior to visiting Dunwoody Dental, I would get sinus infections several times a year. Since my teeth and gums have been corrected, I have not had another infection.
Since my treatment, I have referred my brother in law, his wife, and other co-workers to Dunwoody Dental. I could not imagine going to any other dentist.
My confidence and smile has been restored. I cannot thank the staff enough for their professionalism while making me feel part of their family.

1. Why did you initially choose Dunwoody Dental?
Because a good friend and someone I trusted was opening the practice. Trust is important to me when someone will be working on my teeth and the dentists at Dunwoody are about as honest as you can get.
2. What stood out to you about your first visit to Dunwoody Dental?
Just how clean and modern their facility was compared to places I had been in the past. Also, the staff were all very friendly and seemed to be genuinely happy about being there. All of this creating a very comforting environment.
3. Would you recommend our office to a friend? If so, why would you tell them to visit us as opposed to any other office.
Absolutely would recommend and have many times. I offer my recommendations for the same reasons I mention above.
4. In general terms describe the services you had at Dunwoody Dental and if you can any positive changes from before treatment to after.
I have had my routine cleanings and maintenance at Dunwoody since they opened. Further, I had a complete realignment of my teeth through Dunwoody’s Invisalign program. My Invisalign case was a particularly difficult one as I was missing a tooth. Due to the constant movement of the rest of my teeth due to this missing tooth, I would have began to experience further crowding and potential jaw issues if I did not get it taken care of (even though I had braces as a kid). The Invisalign specialists at Dunwoody were not only able to perfectly straighten my teeth, but make enough room to install an implant and crown. I now have what looks like a “perfect smile” and could not be happier. I would rank my overall experience with Dunwoody Dental a 10 out of 10.

3. Would you recommend our office to a friend? If so, why would you tell them to visit us as opposed to any other office. OF COURSE! I have and still do recommend people to Dunwoody Dental. I would name names, but the whole office would be listed. Everyone is very friendly and genuinely care when asking “how have you been?” and “how is the family?”. Dunwoody always seems to find time to squeeze me in and send helpful, but not annoying, reminders of appointment time and date. The whole office atmosphere is very easy going and laid back. Takes the stress off having to go to the dentist.

Due to a rare genetic condition I was born without enamel on my teeth. They were very soft and yellow. For most of my life I was very embarrassed about my smile and my self esteem was low. Through a lot of counseling Dr.LT said the veneers was a good option for me. The process of applying 8 veneers to the top teeth took most of the day, but the process was very transparent. I felt like I knew exactly what was going on the whole time with verbal communications from Dr.LT and Jesse. I have had many experiences with dentist where you are there wondering how much longer or why things are being done. The communication really helped with my day long surgery.
I had to wear temporary veneers while mine were being made from impressions at the lab. A few times my temporary would fall out and I would just call Shasta at the front desk to have her squeeze me in somewhere that day or the next so I as not running around toothless. When the veneers came in, they were perfect.
I had major dental surgery to give me a smile of my dreams. I could have not asked for a better team and support group to deliver that to me. I am happier and more smiley than ever
